Welcome
My name is Kyriakos Papavassiliou and I am an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
For almost 18 years, I have dedicated myself to the surgical management of musculoskeletal tumors, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant (sarcoma) tumors of the bones and soft tissues, as well as the surgical treatment of metastatic skeletal disease.
My medical career includes significant fellowships at leading international musculoskeletal oncology centers. I began my specialization in bone and soft tissue tumor surgery at the Bone & Soft-Tissue Sarcoma Unit of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore – London, U.K., and completed it with a two-year fellowship at the Service de Chirurgie Orthopédique et Traumatologie, Chirurgie du rachis, Hôpital Bicêtre Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, Paris – France, actively participating in complex surgeries and multidisciplinary teams.
The treatment of patients with musculoskeletal tumors is extremely challenging. These tumors are very rare, requiring great dedication, extensive experience, and specialized knowledge that take years to acquire. Equally essential is participation in multidisciplinary teams involving Medical Oncologists, Interventional Radiologists, Pathologists, and Radiation Oncologists.
